2001 honored with George Foster Peabody award for series Confronting Colon
Cancer, which persuaded thousands of Americans to obtain colonoscopies; in 1999
helped found National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance; previously worked as news
reporter for WRC-TV in Washington, D.C., ABC News, CNN, and WTVJ in Miami, Fla; in 1979
graduated with honors from University of Virginia. |
